BROWNIE PACKAGING GUIDE

Choose a brownie box around the finished portions.

A useful brownie-box plan starts with the final cut size and arrangement. Portion count alone is not enough because brownies, blondies, cookies and dessert bars vary in width, depth and finish.

Build the layout before choosing the box

Cut the brownies to their sale size and place them in the intended arrangement on the liner, tray or divider. Measure the complete layout rather than multiplying a nominal portion size.

Leave enough space to lift each piece without damaging toppings or neighbouring portions. If individual wraps, cups or dividers are used, include them in the measurement.

Measure four things

  1. Portion width and length. Measure after cutting and finishing, including coatings or decorative edges.
  2. Complete arrangement. Record the full row-and-column footprint with liners or dividers in place.
  3. Finished depth. Include toppings, drizzles, inserts and any protective layer above the brownies.
  4. Handling space. Allow room to place and remove portions cleanly without forcing the box walls.

Match the box to the selling occasion

  • Everyday bakery orders need a repeatable layout and quick assembly
  • Gift assortments may need visual spacing, a window and room for a message card
  • Delivery orders need a stable liner or divider that limits movement
  • Mixed dessert boxes must be measured around the largest or tallest item
  • Wholesale orders should be tested with one complete packed sample first

Grease, moisture and liners

Rich brownies can transfer butter or moisture to packaging. Product materials and coatings vary, so check the individual specification and use a suitable food-safe liner when the bake requires one.

For a new recipe or a long holding period, test the complete packaging combination under the same conditions in which it will be sold or delivered.
