CAKE BOX SIZE GUIDE
How do I measure a cake for its box?
Measure the finished cake—not the tin, sponge or recipe weight. Decorations, boards and toppers change the space you need.
- Measure the widest point. Include frosting, decorations and anything that projects from the side.
- Measure the full height. Start at the underside of the cake board and finish at the highest stable decoration.
- Check the board. The base footprint may be wider than the cake itself, so the board is often the controlling measurement.
- Compare with the stated box dimensions. Product titles and specification tables should state length, width and height.
- Leave practical handling room. If the finish is delicate, do not choose a box that requires the sides to touch the cake.

PRESENTATION GUIDE
When is a window box useful?
A window lets the customer see the bake before opening. It is especially useful when colour, decoration or arrangement is part of the purchase experience. Compare window placement with the height of the finished bake and check that transport protection remains the priority.
- Use clean product images to understand the viewing angle.
- Check whether the window is on the top, side or both.
- Confirm the stated dimensions rather than judging scale from a photo.
- For delivery orders, test the assembled package with the real product before committing to volume.
